Varsity Women's Soccer Continues Winning Ways

The Varsity Women’s Soccer team continued their winning ways by defeating The Epiphany School and Freedom Christian last week. The Lady Crusaders are now 5-0 on the season.  HCA defeated Epiphany easily by a score of 6-0. Goalie Emily Benton captured another shutout, and had nine saves in the match. Haley Bowles had one goal and three assists, while Harley Crumpler added one goal and one assist. Margaret Clark had two goals and two assists in the Crusader victory and Natalie Hardin had one goal. The girls then traveled to Fayetteville to take on the Patriots for the second time this season. Once again, HCA won by a landslide, the final score being 5-0. Hardin and Clark both scored in the first half. Clark had a second goal after halftime, giving her a total of eleven goals on the season. Madison Tart scored her first goal of the season and Bowles had a goal as well. Benton recorded one save in the game and Crumpler had two assists.

The Lady Crusaders were scheduled to take on Wilmington Christian on March 23, but the game was cancelled because of poor field conditions after a weekend of steady rain. HCA will return to action on the 26th at home against Coastal Christian High School. This will be the girl’s first conference game of the season and is set to begin at 4:00.
