The Harrells Christian Academy Varsity
Softball team steamrolled Clinton High School on Monday, March 23 by a score of
25-5. After a relatively slow start to the season, the Lady Crusaders have won
four games in a row and the bats have certainly heated up. Mary Grace Norris
went 3-5 with three runs scored and an RBI against Clinton. Abigail Blanchard also
had three hits along with a run scored and three runs batted in. Blanchard also
pitched a great game, going two full innings, giving up only two hits and one
run. She also struck out two batters. Lead-off batter Hope Cottle had two hits and
scored three runs while Amber Dixon went 3-4, scoring three runs along with
three RBI. Marissa Parks scored five runs in the game, and also added a base
hit and an RBI. Talina Giles followed up Parks with two hits, four runs, and
three RBI. Ashley Usher added a hit to the stat book and scored a run. Brenna
King later took over pitching duties from Blanchard in the third inning. King
pitched two full innings and struck out three batters while giving only two
hits. King also had a great day at the plate with two hits. She also scored
four runs in the ballgame.
The Lady Crusaders will hit the field
again on March 31 against Arrendell Parrott Academy at home. The game is set to
